So @stumbler your point is that calling you a bully/asshole is worse than, or justifies you accusing shooter of being treasonous?
    Is that your point?
Tell you what. If thats your point notify stanley. If stanley agrees shooter is ready to take his suspension.

Oh. Sorry. Forgot your claim that stanley likes shooter.

Looks like you're just gonna have to suck it up.

This is one of the most blatantly corrupt things I've ever seen a member of congress do let alone the House Speaker. And I think its obvious MeCarthy was too stupid and ignorant to actually think it through it. There is no other logical explanation than McCarthy is trying to facilitate a false propaganda noise campaign. Which will only come back to haunt both him and Fox News.

Media organizations demand Jan. 6 videos McCarthy shared with Fox News' Tucker Carlson

A group of media organizations, including CBS News, is demanding access to a tranche of surveillance and police videos from the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol that U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy provided to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

In a letter to congressional leadership Friday, the media companies argue the footage McCarthy allowed Carlson and Fox News to access should be made available to other media groups.

The letter was sent on behalf of CBS News, CNN, Politico, ProPublica ABC, Axios, Advance, Scripps, the Los Angeles Times, and Gannett.

"Without full public access to the complete historical record, there is concern that an ideologically-based narrative of an already polarizing event will take hold in the public consciousness, with destabilizing risks to the legitimacy of Congress, the Capitol Police, and the various federal investigations and prosecutions of January 6 crimes," wrote attorney Charles Tobin.

McCarthy's office has not responded to multiple requests for comment from CBS News about the reported release of more than 41,000 hours of police footage to Fox News.

The House speaker said in a Wednesday interview with The New York Times that he expects to make the footage more widely available after Carlson uses the material.

"I was asked in the press about these tapes, and I said they do belong to the American public. I think sunshine lets everybody make their own judgment," McCarthy said.

In the letter to McCarthy, Tobin wrote that the media organizations agreed with his "sunshine" statement.

"Now that the CCTV videos have been released to one member of the news media – one whose program is categorized by its own network as opinion programming – they must be released to the rest of the news media as well," Tobin wrote.

The release has unleashed a wave of controversy on Capitol Hill. In a letter to colleagues, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries described Carlson as a "FOX News personality who regularly peddles in conspiracy theories and Pro-Putin rhetoric."

A House Democrat who was part of a Democratic Party caucus meeting about the video release told CBS News there is "deep, deep concern" about the security implications of McCarthy's decision. The Democrat, who requested anonymity to discuss the Democratic caucus' internal discussions, said House members are not certain if Carlson's team was restricted from recording images of the videos or if they were supervised while viewing the video.

In a statement, the U.S. Capitol Police chief said, "When Congressional Leadership or Congressional Oversight Committees ask for things like this, we must give it to them."

But there are concerns that a selective release of the video could reveal camera positions and security vulnerabilities.

Former U.S. Capitol Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell told CBS News, "If Speaker McCarthy really wants to be transparent, he would have given the videos to all news outlets and not just the entertainers at Fox News."

McCarthy has said little publicly about the release of the footage. In a report from The New York Times Wednesday, McCarthy said he'd "promised" to release the footage. McCarthy's election as House speaker was held up in early January by a faction of far-right House Freedom Caucus conservatives. The nature of some of the concessions exacted by the group from McCarthy remains unclear.

Some members of the House Republican conference have minimized the actions and violence of Jan. 6, calling defendants "political prisoners." In 2021, a House Republican from Georgia, Rep. Andrew Clyde, referred to the Jan. 6 attack as a "normal tourist visit."

On his nightly primetime Fox News program, Carlson has echoed some of the Republican arguments minimizing the Capitol siege.

Carlson said on the show Monday that "we have been there about a week, our producers — some of our smartest producers — have been there looking at this stuff and trying to figure out what it means, and how it contradicts, or not, the story that we've been told for two years."

"We think, in some ways, it already does contradict that story," Carlson said.

Fox News did not reply to a request for comment.

A similar media coalition successfully sought release of some Justice Department video court exhibits in Jan. 6 prosecutions, including police body camera footage and surveillance video that shows the violence and attacks directed at police. Hours of footage, which was submitted to or shown in open court in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, has been regularly shared with the media coalition. The footage has helped prosecutors secure hundreds of guilty pleas and partial or full convictions in nearly every jury trial in U.S. Capitol cases.

The Justice Department continues to seek to limit open testimony and cross-examination about the location of Capitol Police surveillance cameras.

In a court filing in a felony case against an accused rioter from Florida, the agency said, "U.S. Capitol Police's surveillance system also serves an important, and ongoing, function in protecting Congress and, by extension, national security. In particular, the footage from the system is subject to limitations and controls on access and dissemination."

Shooter thinks McCarthy was brilliant, giving Carlson access to those tapes. His action so triggered liberals and their publicists that now they have no choice but to address what is on those tapes.

Shooter thinks if those tapes do not support, or worse, contradict what Nancy's star chamber report claimed, the hoax will be exposed and the corruption will be exposed.

How embarrassing for nancy and liz and the rest of the star chamber, eh?

Now if the tapes support the committee some of our confidence can be restored, eh?

What would be "fair" to the American public is the release of the capitol videos, the evidence and the transcripts the star chamber has.

Shooter would have thought the star chamber understands a coverup always has greater consequences than the original sin.

What would have been fair would have been a peaceful transition of power.
It would have been fair not to rouse a rabble of dumb fucks resulting in over a thousand criminal charges for his faithful.
Trump may never see a day in court but his legacy will be judged as the worst in history. No way to spin that.

You are quite correct BigSuzy. We did not need the capitol riots, the destruction, the deaths.
A very dark chapter of our history.
The vermin responsible are being punished.
If there are others involved, lets find them. Show us the tapes, let us once again have faith that our government is doing it right, not playing stupid political games with such important issues.

And what makes them traitors is they all knew. Trump and his treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans, including the ones here, all knew Trump lost the election. They all knew it was a free and fair election and there was no massive voter fraud. They all knew the majority of Americans chose President Biden over Trump. And for the first time in more than 230 years they all chose to lie about it, attempt the first coup in American, and stage an armed violent and deadly insurrection to try and prevent the peaceful transfer of power.

And the way we know they continue to be traitors is the J6 committee proved that beyond any reasonable doubt. They have the videos, the documentation, and the witnesses who were all Republicans. But to keep denying that they advocate for turning 40,000 hours of videos over to a proven liar, propagandist, and Putin supporter.

Then dare to try and call themselves Americans. No. They prove beyond reasonable doubt they hate the United States of America and every great thing it has ever stood for just because their Chosen One lost an election.

And the proof of that is they will scream all day every day trying g to deny that reality but will never even answer simple and straightforward questions about it.

    1. shootersa
The j6 committee hasn't proven squat.
They've handed us a circus production in prime time.
      They've handed us their "findings".
So if you are so positive and confident in your findings, show us the rest.
      Show us the video.
      Show us the evidence.
      Show us the testimony.

And @stumbler you can continue to twirl and stamp your foot that anyone not 100% in support of your agenda, anyone not condemning all things deplorable are traitors and they hate America, but you know that is nothing but propaganda. You can try to bully people to play your stupid games, but in the end you are not going to succeed. All you do is foment hate and prejudice.

Anyone who calls America a "shithole country" and a "banana republic" cannot claim to be a patriot. They should hang their head in shame for what they have done.

Are you willing to debate this using actual debate rules @shootersa? I would be happy to debate this with you but we have to have some actual rules and follow them. Or are you simply being a coward running your mouth and making false accusations but too cowardly to actually try and back up what you say?

And part of the proof of that and the obvious reason you can't date anything is because you are just a broken record saying the same things making the same false accusations every day on almost every thread. And this thread is a perfect examples. Just saying the same things over and over and over again like a sq waking parrot.

If you're going to swing, do it while the ball is still in the air. Are you ever going to say something? If you think the Jan6 committee committed a crime, just say so instead of these weak insinuations. There are quite a few people who will spend time in prison because of their actions on Jan6. Some of them plead guilty to the charges and not a one of them claimed the Jan6 committee covered up anything, or concealed evidence that could exonerate them.

One of the stranger aspects of dealing with Trump world is having to figure out the new meanings of familiar words. This use of "fair" seems to fair in the sense that two wrongs make a right.

Several prominent Republicans got their Trump thong retensioned when accused of giving reconnaissance tours of the Capitol days before the attack. They were adamant that they would never do anything to endanger the security of the Capitol and all tours were harmless. They never denied giving tours, just denied being responsible for any damage.

Now, the top Republican in the House hands over videos which reveal all the security measures taken in the Capitol to a person who besides having a demonstrated affection for Putin and all things Soviet, has been revealed by the court to be a liar, in an organization of liars. who use their place of trust to manipulate the public.

The motto of Fox news is "Fair and Balanced" If we apply the new definition of fair, if one Russian sympaticognosti gets to learn all the secrets of the Capitol, shouldn't all those whose loyalty lies with other nations have the same opportunity?

So if the evidence is so compelling, lets see it.
The propaganda pushed by the Nancy Antoinette star chamber, by the despicables, and by some forum members isn't going to convince any deplorable.
So show us the evidence. Let us see your proof. All of it.

Nope that is absolutely useless and a waste of time because I have posted the evidence so many times already.

It has to be in a format where we actually debate it using standard rules where you either have to accept the evidence or refute it using actual sources ad documentation.

There is no seance or purpose @shootersa in just going around and around on your broken record.

And I knew and I think most others did to that you would not accept that challenge because you are already famous for refusing to answer just simple and straight forward questions. Its a running joke around here.

Truly excellent analysis. And a key point. I stopped debating on this forum because to conservatives words have no meaning and there is no past or future. You cannot go back and prove they are contradicting themselves depending on who is president. You cannot accurately predict where their words and actions will lead to. You must simply suspend all disbelief and demand you accept and believe whatever they say when they say it. And then no matter how many times you prove what they are saying is a lie they will never admit that and just keep pushing the illusion of truth telling the same lies over and over and over again straight out of the Nazi false propaganda playbook.

And so now as you say they support and in fact cheer handing over national and domestic security secrets over to just one man. A proven in court, liar, propagandist, Putin supporter and try to claim he has more credibility than a bipartisan congressional committee that investigated with open and transparent hearings presenting the testimony, documents, evidence and videos.

If that is not them trying to turn the US back into a third world banana republic shit hole country I nave never seen it. The House Speaker turning all that over to a corrupt lying TV entertainer so he can boost his ratings and be nice to Kevin the Coward on his TV show. A direct obvious and fucking sickening two man quid pro quo at the expense of the American people.

And they support and cheer that and then still want to call themselves Americans.

465 people have plead guilty to their charges, so far. They must have thought the government had evidence to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

I don't believe any evidence would convert you and I certainly don't believe you would tell us, if it did change your view. There's no way to know what you believe at this moment, so there's no way to gauge any change.

And let's not forget convictions for seditious conspiracy with very likely more to come.

    18 U.S. Code § 2384 - Seditious conspiracy
    prev | next
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

    (June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 808; July 24, 1956, ch. 678, § 1, 70 Stat. 623; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(N), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)

And it goes beyond there is no proof that would convince him. He cannot even afford to look at the actual evidence let alone debate it because its too overwhelming and exposes his illusion of truth,

Cmon. You're being obtuse now, right?

To be clear, we aren't talking about the DOJ investigation and the conviction of the vermin responsible for the January 6 riot.

We're talking about the tapes and evidence and testimony gathered up by Nancy Antoinettes star chamber that supposedly proves that Trump fomented an insurrection.

What we've seen is the carefully edited snips and testimony that supports their claim.

So, lets see the rest of it. Lets see what it proves. Not what they want us to see.

For example, tell us how the testimony of Trumps driver on January 6, and the testimony of his security team that day, will so compromise national security?
Shooter thinks they're really afraid that their "blockbuster" testimony that Trump threw a hissy fit because they wouldn't take him to the capitol so he could personally lead the insurrection will be shown to be lies.

    But lets see it.
Lets see this smoking gun they claim they have.

One has to wonder just what kind of blind brainwashed parrot fucking idiot can't see the lies and just stupid logical fallacy here.

Just how fucking stupid to they think we are or just how fucking stupid are they. The videos are already fucking released. The treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans and especially Kevin The Coward have no control whatsoever after those videos leave government hands and get into Carlson's hands. There is no telling how many people have access to them. How many times they get copied. Or who all could be already getting copies of those videos. Carlson or someone at Fox could already be sending them to right wing extremists or Putin himself.

This just fucking insulting and shows Kevin The Coward is starting to feel the heat for his quid pro quo arrangement with Carlson for ratings and Kevin the Coward getting good press from Carlson on his TV show.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday defended giving Fox host Tucker Carlson exclusive access to nearly 42,000 hours of previously unreleased surveillance video from the day of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He said other networks and the American public would get access to the video as "soon as possible" but would not commit to a timeline.

"Well, first of all, we didn't hand over anything. Tucker was interested. You had videos for more than two years. I didn't hear anybody concerned about that when CNN was given exclusive," McCarthy told reporters.

While CNN was given access to similar videos, no outlet ever exclusively was given access to all the surveillance footage until now.

"Have you ever had an exclusive?" McCarthy said. "Because I see it on your networks all the time. So, they have exclusive, then I'll give it out to the entire country."

When asked about concerns about handing the video to Carlson, who has downplayed the attack on the Capitol, McCarthy took aim at the news media.

"Well, I get concerned about CNN giving exit routes out when they have the footage. I'm concerned about Nancy Pelosi's daughter's showing whether we went to Fort McNair when we weren't supposed to say we were there, made a documentary -- CNN put those out. That was a security problem. I was concerned about showing the exit route of Pence on the January 6, I was concerned in my own office, they showed the exit route -- never talked to me either. We won't play politics like that," McCarthy said.

Asked when other news outlets and the American public would be able to see the same footage that he is providing exclusively to Fox News, McCarthy said, "As soon as possible."

"I think sunshine matters so everybody could be able to see it. We're walking through it. It's many more hours of tape than we were ever told," he said.

McCarthy said he did not consult with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell on giving Fox access to the footage and pushed back that doing so was a concession to win over GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz's vote in his quest for speaker.

McConnell, who himself was hustled to a secure location during the attacks, dodged when asked point blank Tuesday if he’s comfortable with McCarthy giving access to Carlson, who has downplayed what happened on Jan. 6.

"Going back to when Speaker Pelosi was speaker, my main concern is the security of the Capitol," he said.

Earlier Tuesday, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise also defended the plan to provide Carlson and his producers unfettered access to the video footage but said the release is being coordinated and that the video will go through vetting before it is ultimately released.

It's still not clear when Carlson plans to air the footage or what specific footage he intends to show, but his team does not have the ability to record it and is required to view the material in a controlled environment and cannot take footage with them.

Without elaborating, Scalise said at a news conference that what gets released "is going to obviously be scrutinized" and accused former Houser Speaker Nancy Pelosi of exposing sensitive information through the footage that was played during the Jan. 6 hearings.

The Jan. 6 investigators didn't release the video without close consultation with the Capitol Police and their general counsel, however, according to sources familiar with their work. The general counsel would review footage that the committee wanted to show and then come back with specific requests of what video to trim or what video they did not want to be used publicly. Committee investigators also had to view the video in a dedicated terminal set up by the Capitol Police.

"Well, of course, if you watch what the January 6 committee did, under Speaker Pelosi, they actually released a lot of video that was very sensitive," Scalise said. "I mean, they literally released video of Vice President Pence exiting the Capitol showing the route that he takes. I didn't hear a lot of concern about that back then. We were concerned how selective they were."

"So, people should ask the J6 committee if they were concerned about national security aspects when the released a ton of footage," Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., said.

Behind closed doors during a conference meeting on Tuesday, McCarthy defended the arrangement with Carlson and the importance of "transparency," according to sources in the room.

McCarthy has previously ignored reporters' questions regarding the Jan. 6 tapes, including a number of times before he spoke to reporters Tuesday.

A lawyer representing media outlets, including ABC News, has sent a letter to congressional leaders requesting that the footage be made available to additional media outlets and not just the opinion arm of Fox News.

The Justice Department has already made public hundreds of hours of surveillance and body camera footage as part of its more than 900 prosecutions of rioters charged in the attack on the Capitol. But at times, the DOJ has joined with the Capitol Police in expressing concerns over the release of some footage that could disclose sensitive areas in the Capitol, the location of closed-circuit cameras, and other sensitive security movements.

Separately, a coalition of media outlets, including ABC News, has also fought in court for the release of exhibits from those prosecutions, in many cases over the objections of defendants.

The despicable fury over release of the capitol tapes rings hollow.

There isn't a question that the committee has withheld transcripts, video, and other evidence not only from the media (well, except they did give CNN access to some video) but also from the DOJ, despite DOJ demands for what the committee has.

Now the law is really clear; a defendant has the right to be given ALL EVIDENCE, including exculpatory evidence, held by the government that relates to their case. The vermin who invaded the capitol on January 6 have every right to see everything the government has, including what the committee claims is "security related". A failure to provide EVERYTHING can almost guarantee a mistrial at best, a dismissal of charges at worst. So far this hasn't been an issue, and despite the committee's best efforts to keep what it has secret, over half of the January 6 rioters have been convicted. But, this latest fury could lead some defense attorneys to appeal based on prosecutorial misconduct for not making everything available to defense attorneys.

So. If the rioters have the absolute right to access of ALL that the government has, how is it that the committee/despicables can think that withholding the tapes from the public/media serves to protect the security of the capitol and Congress in the future?

And Shooter was reminded that Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra, and her husband were also present on January 6, filming for a documentary on mom. The documentary, made for HBO, included revealing footage of the events of January 6, including Pelosi's evacuation from the capitol and her discussions of security inside the capitol even as rioters invaded the capitol.

And not a whisper from despicables about a security issue with release of the documentary.

We are reminded yet again, what a despicable does is regularly called "politics". What a deplorable does is regularly called "criminal".

Actually it was pointed out now only were the escape routes and secure location not revealed in those videos they are also cropped very close to not even reveal the inside of the room they were in.

Treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans just hate them because they disprove their lie that House Speaker Pelosi turned down help from the National Guard.
