Not sure this one is in the realm of possibility. Real life has me very busy until mid-September. I'll give the old college try because I love the challenge.

Would a person be able to do two separate entries? For instance if two of the photos inspired two separate stories could I do two separate entries.

 

Horse spelled that out in the rules. You can do two stories, each story must be from a different theme. Theme as in sentence, picture or country. You can do sentence and picture, picture and county, or country and sentence. You can't do picture and picture.

 

Or you could write to unwind from the stress.

I'm teasing you, of course, but I think I'm not the only one who hopes you can find time.

Thank you. I'm trying to keep the "rules" to where they are so it doesn't become too rigid. I did something rigid in the past and it caused a lot of strife. Generally, as Stex stated, the readers/voters can decide. I did ask for people to state which they are using, but, I'm not going to make it mandatory.

If you are over 42 years of age, they you can write about Britain. My point was that I thought it would be nice if people stepped outside of their normal settings and picked something different. For example, if I were writing, I might write a story about war-ravaged Afghanistan. Now from seeing some movies, I have a general idea of what the country is like, but, knowing me, I'd be Googling the heck out of it, looking for insights into settings, customs, and such, so that when I wrote, the flavor of that land would be present in the story.

So, yeah, you could write about Britain, perhaps, but would that stretch your imagination much? Probably not. Not saying you couldn't come up with a good story there either. That's why I left it as-is, and gave people many, many choices.

Leave it to you to murky things up for me, lol!

The rules don't state that you can't mix them together. I certainly took advantage during BlackRonin's Snoopy challenge by using all 10 phrases in my story.

You cannot not not use more than one, not saying not that you cannot, but note not is not knot, but not.

I once wrote a story based in Dublin - never been there. I then wrote a story about England - been as far as Heathrow. I wrote a story about Scotland - 10 days there. You don't need to have been there. You don't need to have lived there. Just as in writing any story, be factual when it's called for, use your imagination for the rest.

Funny thing about the Dublin story, I used the location of a sports bar. A local messaged me and asked when I was there. I absolutely nailed the description with just my imagination. Have fun with this!

 

So I know which fifteen story ideas I like.

 

@loverlydark I have written lots of CAW stories just never entered them. Which was stupid. Its probably the best entertainment you will get out of this place.

 

That was my point as well. I am writing about somewhere else, I was just surprised that the rules would allow me to write about Britain. I was surprised it was "majority" of you life, I might have gone for "significant" portion.

After counting the months, I've lived in Britain for a total of 23.5 years, as it was my 47th birthday in January, I could write about Britain under those rules. But then if I add up all the time I've spent on vacation there, it might tip me back. I'm not sure that counts, it might depend on when I submit the story. I'm not being argumentative here (really), just amused by it being so close.

 

(Hangs head) got NOTHING! I may have to actually sit this out *sigh*

 

Nothing? There are so many possibilities in this CAW, how can you have nothing? There are at least 190 countries in the world, have you never been to any of them? Even if you haven't, you can choose one and pretend you're there with enough research. There are two Foreign countries within 90 miles of Florida, take a day trip.

The only bit which hasn't sparked a story idea for me is the tree stump man picture, he sounds perfect for one of yours.
